Superhost

Another personal favorite of mine from the Daily Kent Stater days… for those of you who aren’t from northeast Ohio, Superhost was a local TV show; he showed Three Stooges shorts and Godzilla movies on Saturday afternoons. I likely never would have found those treasures had Superhost not introduced me to them…. although some would argue I would have been better off if he hadn’t!

They’d be¬†wrong, of course… :-)

Sorry for the white streaks running through the middle of some of these strips… the strips have been sitting in an old scrapbook for years, and there’s a glare from the plastic cover over them, but they’re so old, I’m afraid to take off the plastic cover, lest I rip the strips….

Oh, well… kind of adds a homey touch, wouldn’tcha say? ;-)

I remember this one – I’ve always liked the “timing” of the narrative…..it flows like the real thing would. I can hear the character’s voices as I read, with all the inflection and pathos. :-)

I’m also noticing that WonderBrat’s hair is really long in the last frame……that dude has some tight curls…….

Lol… thanks, Wally! I do go for good timing and pacing in my characters’ ridiculous conversations… :-)

Actually, his hair in the last frame was inspired by Larry from the 3 Stooges, appropriately enough. I always liked how Larry (or one of the other Stooges) could rip out so many big handfuls of his hair and he’d still have tons left, you know?

I watched Superhost. I *REMEMBER* Superhost. Superhost was *NOT* “big and huge”.

Um…okay, he got a bit chubby in his later years; but he was never physically big or huge. (This fan, however, thought that he was one of the funniest things on television.)

    Hey, Reynard!

True dat. That’s what makes the line funny. Hopefully. ;-)
